Fever still high on day four, or gone and back, needs a second look.
When the child is playful and off fever for the period we advise.
We take a full history — onset, feeding, fever, sleep, school and any earlier reports.
Growth, chest, tummy, skin and development are checked. Tests are advised only if they change care.
A clear home plan is given, with a review so we know the child is settling.
Same-day care for a baby under 3 months with fever, a non-blanching rash, stiff neck, or a child who is not drinking.
