Not every red urine is kidney disease (beets and some medicines can colour it). We still check, because blood with swelling, pain or protein needs a kidney look.

We say clearly whether this is urgent, scheduled, or a simple repeat test.
We take a full history — onset, feeding, fever, sleep, school and any earlier reports.
Growth, chest, tummy, skin and development are checked. Tests are advised only if they change care.
A clear home plan is given, with a review so we know the child is settling.
Seek care the same day for cola urine with swelling, very little urine, or blood with severe pain.
